NEUHAUSEN, FEBRUARY 26, 2024, IT-TRANS 2024
Trapeze presents innovative systems for the digitalization of public transport at IT-TRANS
Neuhausen am Rheinfall, February 26, 2024 - Preserving good traditions while developing innovative technologies for the future is what Trapeze stands for. One of the company's traditions is to be represented as a Platinum Sponsor of IT-TRANS with a large stand where it presents tried-and-tested products and the latest solutions.
IT-TRANS, the international conference and trade fair for digitalization in public transport, will take place in Karlsruhe from 14 to 16 May 2024. Trapeze will be represented there together with its sister company Systemtechnik GmbH at stand no. H5 in hall 1. Visitors to IT-TRANS will receive comprehensive information on a wide range of topics at the Trapeze stand. Trapeze will be presenting operations control systems, on-board computer solutions, systems for passenger information, possible applications in the field of business intelligence as well as solutions for planning, dispatching, electromobility and accessibility.
The entire network at a glance: LIO operations control system
The control center is the heart of transport companies; the dispatchers always have a precise overview of what is happening on all routes. To achieve this, they rely on functioning data and voice connections, intelligent control systems and efficient optimization options. Find out more at the Trapeze stand about the latest generation of the Trapeze LIO operations control system with its extensive functionalities and diverse parameterization options.
Always connected: State-of-the-art on-board systems
As usual, the latest generation of on-board computers for buses and trains offers the full range of functions for the complete integration of public service vehicles into a control system. It secures all necessary data flows, stores central operating data and enables reliable communication between the control center and the drivers. Drivers use modern IP terminals of the IPT type with a touchscreen and four direct keys to operate the Trapeze on-board computer. The lean on-board computer alternative WebVLU is a cost-effective solution if a smaller range of functions is sufficient or if vehicles are only to be used temporarily in a control system. The WebVLU app offers driver support and dispatching via a smartphone or tablet and includes the essential basic functions for monitoring and dispatching. The MFD G3i is already the third generation of both proven and future-proof multifunctional displays for passenger information in buses and trains.
Evaluate and optimize: Business Intelligence
Precisely prepared data from the ITCS system can be used to optimize any transport company, making the LIO-BI2 business intelligence module an important tool for the best possible evaluations. In addition to standard reports and automatic report generation, users also have access to customizable reports. Highlights include a high-quality database, multidimensional data analyses and simple operation via a web interface. The recorded data is also available for processing by third-party systems via integrated interfaces.

Electromobility in the control system: LIO-Volta
With LIO-Volta, Trapeze offers a solution for the optimal integration of electric buses into a control system. Thanks to LIO-Volta, the dispatchers in the control center always have real-time data on the vehicles. The system uses an automatic alarm function to inform them in good time if problems arise, for example if the energy supply is too low or the battery temperature is too high.
Inclusion thanks to travel assistance: INTROS
The INTROS (Independent Traveling Orientation System) travel assistance system enables visually impaired and blind passengers as well as people with limited physical mobility to use public transport independently. The solution was developed by Trapeze in collaboration with the Swiss Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (SBV) - development by those affected for those affected ensures maximum added value for the target group. The SBV's public transport radar app notifies the passenger of the desired vehicle and helps them to find the boarding area and communicate with the driver. They receive information about the next stops, can signal their stop request and, if necessary, alert the driver at the touch of a button.
Optimize operational processes: Planning System
With the planning and scheduling solutions from Trapeze, transport companies achieve greater efficiency and better results. The use of the Trapeze Planning System enables optimized journey, vehicle circulation and service planning for buses and trains. This allows planners and dispatchers to easily create solid and reliable travel offers for their passengers.
Valuable support: Operation Management System
The Trapeze Operation Management System ensures greater efficiency in operational processes and optimized results. Employees receive valuable support in the areas of rotation and duty roster planning, personnel and vehicle scheduling, employee communication and automated payroll calculation. With TRAICY, Trapeze is currently developing a new, fully integrated and highly automated operation management system. The already successful planning and scheduling systems are being integrated into the new software and new important requirements and innovations are being implemented.
Disposition on a new level: Resource Optimizer
One of the most important components in the area of planning and scheduling is automation and optimization. The deeply integrated Trapeze Resource Optimizer combines planning and scheduling as a central component. It enables customers to take their daily scheduling to a whole new level. A shortage of skilled workers, reduced planning capability and a lack of responsiveness in the industry demand new processes. The Resource Optimizer takes all of this into account and makes workflows more efficient and flexible and shift planning much more attractive for employees again.
